ABLI-III Restructuring Project presented at INSOL Singapore 2019

On April 2, 2019, Dr Paul Omar of De Montfort University presented the Asian Principles of Business Restructuring project, jointly undertaken with the International Insolvency Institute, to the academics colloquium at the INSOL Singapore Annual Regional Conference.

The Asian Principles of Business Restructuring project aims to:

• map the business restructuring regimes (both in-court and out-of-court) in 16 Asian jurisdictions; and
• examine areas of convergence and divergence in attempt to find ways in which the 16 jurisdictions may work more effectively with one another.

Dr Omar is a member of the Working Committee and Editing Sub-Committee for the project. He was also the author of the Questionnaire, to which responses are currently being prepared by experts (Jurisdictional Reporters) in each of the 16 Asian jurisdictions.
