Opening of the Legal Year 2018

“On a related note, I am pleased to mention the inaugural publication of the Asian Business Law Institute (“ABLI”), titled “Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments in Asia”. This will be made freely available on the ABLI website immediately after these proceedings. It comprises 15 country reports written by legal scholars and practitioners, and will be useful to lawyers and general counsel in the region. It will also serve as a springboard for the next phase of the project – which is, to consider whether sufficient areas of commonality exist for further meaningful convergence to be developed.”
